DONNIE is a trans-masculine musical theater performer and advocate for transgender visibility and equality.
Donnie made his off-Broadway debut in spring of 2016 as SAM ("...played with vibrant energy by Donnie Cianciotto..." - NY Times) in the NY Times Critic's Pick Southern Comfort at The Public Theater with Annette O'Toole and Jeff McCarthy, directed by Tom Caruso.
He has also appeared at Feinstein's 54 Below, The Cutting Room, West End Lounge, The Slipper Room, le poisson rouge, The Secret Theatre, Symphony Space, & more, and currently directs and produces the on-going Trans Voices Cabaret at The Duplex highlighting transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming musical theater performers.
Donnie is featured in Broadway for Orlando's What the World Needs Now dance remix video with Chita Rivera, Ben Vereen, and Bebe Neuwerth, and has appeared in several videos for NowThis and other online media outlets. He performed at the 2016 Drama League Gala honoring David Hyde Pierce, and was in Seth Rudetsky's first Concert For America at The Town Hall with Betty Buckley, Beth Malone, and Brian Stokes Mitchell among others.
He is also in the process of filming a feature length documentary about his experiences as a transgender man, inspired by the success of the Emmy award winning documentary short, Donnie, by Ania Augustowska.
